Mormon Church Also Called Jesus Christ Of Latter Day Saints In New York


The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints also called as LDS Church or the Mormon Church points out towards the biggest and the most denomination. It was discovered by Joseph Smith, Jr. as on April 6, 1830 in New York and had its origination from the Latter Day Saint movement. The headquarters of the church is based in Salt Lake City, Utah and has further contributed to the establishment of congregations as well as temples in different parts of the world.

Mormon Church is comprised of nearly 13 million members on its rolls. It claims to be the continuing part of the Church of Christ. The adherents generally gives a reference to the Latter-day Saints, LDS or Mormons in the form of Restorationist Christians but do not regard themselves as part of the traditions related to Catholic, Orthodox or Protestant. The position of the head of the church was believed to be owned by Jesus Christ. The President of the Church was regarded as the highest-ranking leader and is treated as the prophet or as an apostle.

The belief that was held by the Latter-day Saints was that the four books of scripture tend to possess a lot of divine authority and are namely the Doctrine and Covenants, the Book of Mormon, the Bible as well as the Pearl of Great Price. They had the strong belief that Jesus is the son of God and Mary, a virgin. The organization of the Mormon Church was done by Joseph Smith after the publication of the Book of Mormon, which is regarded as one of the scripture of faith and had been translated from a book of golden plates as per the directions of angel Moroni.

The headquarters of the church lasted in Kirtland from the year 1831 to 1838 and during this time the church went ahead with the construction of its first temple and grew rapidly. The new headquatrters of the Mormon Church were further formed in Nauvoo, Illinois, which was the city constructed on drained swampland by the Mississippi River and Smith positioned himself as the mayor.

The members of the Mormon Church hugely participated in the religious activities that took place outside of worship services. The expectations that were kept with the members of the church were doing prayers regularly and many times in a day, opt for doing noble works as well as read scriptures on a daily basis.
