Food safety refers to the scientific process which highlights on the carrying, making as well as storing of food in a proper way in order to avoid foodborne illness. To maintain food safety the various hygienic products that should be put to use are Dish cloth, Disposable gloves, Hair covering, Rubber boots or working shoes etc. The UK Food Standards Agency comes up with various suggestions on food safety and organises a programme namely Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points.

A total of 15 agencies are working towards ensuring food safety out of which the two important agencies are the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) that takes the charge regarding the availabilty of safe meat, poultry as well as various egg products. The other one is Food and Drug Administration (FDA) that takes care of all the other varieties of food. Restaurants and the food joints have to strictly adhere to the laws of the state and are controlled by the state as well as health departments running locally.
