The New York State Thruway Authority turned up with the announcement on September 22, 2008 that the work relating to deck replacement would continue on the Tappan Zee Bridge. Tappan Zee Bridge will come up with the replacement of nearly 40 percent of the entire deck and would concentrate on the two rights outside lanes that extend from the Rockland County shore through the main span.

Jennifer Jacksits was an 18 year old girl and with a pleasant personality. She used to play basketball for her school. Jennifer died on January 6, 2008 in a car crash. The accident took place just before 1 am. Jennifer was returning back home from one of her friends house when the accident took place. The car in which she was collided with an icy board and the car crashed. All her family members and friends are mourning for this unnatural and untimely death of this fun loving girl.
