Heart cancers are difficult to diagnose but person having heart tumors can go for echocardiography. In this procedure ultrasound waves is passed over the chest, producing an image of heart structures and if required down to the throat into the esophagus to record signals from just behind the heart. This procedure is called Tran esophageal echocardiography. Computed tomography or magnetic resonance imaging provides additional information. Heart cancers an also be treatment through surgery. Sometimes chemotherapy or radiation therapy is used and often drugs are injected into the pericardial space to slow the tumor's growth.
