Protestant Against Papal Authority Believe In Biblical Scriptures

Protestantism includes the various forms of faith and practice that are followed by the Christians. They had their origination marked with the doctrines of the Reformation. The Protestant doctrine does not support papal authority and doctrine being unsimilar to Roman Catholicism. Further it also highlights that the biblical scripture is the only source, which provides for the revealed biblical truth and also the fact that it is possible to attain salvation with the help of the grace of God.

The important tenets of Protestantism are mentioned in the Five Solas. The derivation of the term Protestant has been done from the latin word protestatio, which means declaration and carries a reference to the letter of protestation that was written by Lutheran princes in opposition to the decision that was made by the Diet of Speyer in the year 1529, that further had the reaffirmation of the edict of the Diet of Worms as against the Reformation.

Protestantism also makes a reference to the Western Christianity that is not under the purview of Papal authority. The Anglican Church was developed out of the Protestant reformation but is largely different from the reformation principles of many of the Protestants and follows the middle path that lies in between the Roman Catholic and Protestant doctrines. Many other groups like Mormons and Jehovah do not support Protestantism as they find it as a deviation from Christianity that exists in the true sense and declare themselves to be restorationists.

Protestantism has been classified into four ways by the churches and includes the Mainline Protestants, who keeps a track of their lineage to Calvin, Luther, or Anglicanism and they turn up following the doctrines of the Reformation. The second division is in the form of Anabaptists, the movement that has emerged from the Radical Reformation. In recent times have evolved the Restorationists that started from the Stone-Campbell Restoration Movement. These people do not regard themselves as Protestants. The last ones does not support the doctrine of the trinity and belong to the Nontrinitarian movements.

These are inclusive of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints as well as Jehovah's Witnesses, and many of the Quakers. Protestants generally highlights the specific Protestant churches as well as groups in the form of denominations to state the fact that though they carry a different name they are actually a part of the entire church. Among the major protestants was John Wycliffe belonging to the fourteenth century, who started the Morning Star of the Reformation. Protestant
