Mojito Recipe Cocktail With Sugar Limejuice Havana In Cuba

The original Mojito Recipe traces back to Havana in Cuba. A handful of ingredients go in making the cocktail and a number of variations are available from the original version. Some ingredients that are a must for the cocktail drink are a teaspoon of powdered sugar and about two ounces of lime juice from a single lime.

In addition to some other ingredients of the Cuban Mojito recipe are about four Mint leaves with a sprig of Mint and about two ounces of Havana Club white Rum. To get the fizzy flavor, we need to put in two ounces of club soda. When all these ingredients go together it makes a wonderful concoction.

Incidentally, we come to know that the Cuban Mojito Recipe roots in La Bodeguita del Medio in Havana, Cuba. The drink is quite a favorite at the Cuban themed parties or night parties. We can place mint leaves in a long Mojito glass, mostly known as Collins glass and squeeze lime juice over the leaves for the extra flavor.

After we place the mint leaves in a Collins glass, we need to add the powdered sugar and crush the fresh mint leaves and treat them with a muddler. A muddler is a wooden device and a fork or spoon can be used instead. Then we can put in mostly crushed ice and a little amount of rum and stir the ingredients with club soda. After the mixture is done, we can garnish it with Mint Sprig, as per the Mojito Recipe.

Slight variations of the original Mojito Recipe are mostly practiced nowadays. The authentic recipe is a variation of the original Bodeguita Del Medio Cuban recipe. People take about half of the limejuice and to it Angostura bitters can be added as a popular version in Havana hotels.

Another variation from the original Mojito recipe adds that Angostura bitters comes in the way of the Bodeguita recipe. According to some Cubans, guarapo is a better substitute for sugar dust, as the sugar can syrup is available especially in the Latin food section. The sugar substitute can also be traced at Latin grocery stores and mostly sold out as 12 ounce cans as most soft drinks.

It is customary to serve the Mojito drink in the Collins tumblers and muddlers instead of normal drinking glasses. Served mostly at the Havana night parties, the Mojito recipe is quite a hit with the party revelers. The ambience gets better with take-home gifts of Mojito glass sets and Perez Prado Mambo music to make and serve instant Mojitos. It is quite a hit at party venues and people mostly prefer it over ordinary party drinks like Papaya Coffee Liqueur Shake, Pineapple Liquor or Platino Havana.Mojito
