Kathleen Turner is an actress who was born in Springfield on June 19, 1954. Her father was Allen Richard Turner, who used to serve the US Foreign Service as an officer. Her mother was Patsy Magee. Turner had 3 siblings of whom two were brothers and one was a sister.

Kathleen Turner did her high schooling from London. She completed her graduation in 1972 from American School in London. Turner had an inclination towards dramatics. In fact when she was in school she had joined the Central School of Speech and Drama.

Her father was against her inclination for acting; however Kathleen Turner's mother supported her. Turner's first program was The Doctors in 1978. She played the role of Nola Dancy Aldrich. However she could not play the role for a long time as it was thought she did not suit the role. In 1981, Turner made her first appearance in the movies, starring in Body Heat and played the character of Matty Walker. Her performance was liked and complimented by everyone. For her skills in this movie she was praised a lot by The New York Times and the Empire Magazine.

Kathleen Turner elevated to success from her performance in Romancing the Stone. Pauline Kael, a movie critic has credited her for her beautiful performance in the movie. This movie won everybody's heart and Turner even managed to win the Golden Globe for her performance. She even acted in the next series of the movie titled, The Jewel of the Nile. Kathleen has also starred in movies like Who Framed Roger Rabbit, The War of the Roses, Peggy Sue Got Married. In each of the movies she performed really well receiving immense praise.

In 1992, it was found out that Kathleen Turner was suffering from arthritis. Her health started deteriorating day by day despite medical help. The movies she appeared during these years were The Real Blonde, Serial Mom, and House of cards so on. Unlike earlier times her works were not praised by critics rather, they were highly criticized. However she again started gaining prominence from her role in the play The Graduate.

Kathleen Turner had got married to Jay Weiss in 1984. The couple was blessed with a daughter in 1987. Despite her mixed career, Turner has indeed managed to win a lot of praise and awards in her career. She won her second Golden Globe award for Prizzi's Honor, an Academy Award for Peggy Sue.
