Woman Of The Bible Tirzah Hoglah Noah And Milcah Disciples Of Jesus

Rarely does one find a Holy book without any reference to women and this fact should not surprise one. When Lord had created Adam and found him lonely, he created Eve too. Women have been associated with religion as much as their male counterparts, hence one can find women in Holy Scriptures too. In Bethany a women emptied an expensive perfume filled albaster jar over Jesus head. As one reads the Bible, they will find references to lots of women too. They are the women of the Bible.

In Bethany, the disciples of Jesus were angry at the deed of the woman. They were dismayed over the loss of the perfume, which could have been sold for a princely sum, and the money earned from the proceeds could have well been used to benefit the poor. Jesus did not seem to mind the deed of the woman of the Bible, whose act was considered as a good service by Him. According to Jesus, the woman had prepared Him for His burial. While Jesus disciples would have rejected this act, He himself had appreciated it.

Chapter 27 of the Bible finds mention of four women of the Bible, namely, Tirzah, Hoglah, Noah And Milcah. These sisters were pleading with Moses to be granted possession of a part of their fathers land. Their father had died and since it was decreed by the Lord that only male children could only inherit a persons land, they were not eligible to receive the same. These women pleaded that though their father, Zelophehad, had died for his sins, they should be allowed to associate themselves with his name.

The women of the Bible were courageous too. The four sisters who had questioned the Lord himself, not just Moses about the injustice being meted out to them, have demonstrated this. Since their father had had no male child, and according to the then doctrines only male children were eligible to inherit their parents land, these sisters would have been deprived from what they thought was justly theirs.

The women of the Bible are likely to be mentioned in most chapters of this Holy book. There are countless of them including Mother Mary. One can also find mention of the first woman of the world, Eve who was responsible for the sin committed by the first man, Adam. Solomons daughter, Basemath, is also mentioned in quite some chapters. She had married one of her fathers twelve officials. Alabaster
