
Kristi Tsuya Yamaguchi was born on July 12, 1971 in Hayward, California and is a figure skater as well as Olympic champion in women's single that was organised in the year 1992. She also successfully achieved the World Figure Skating Championships twice as in the years 1991 and 1992 as well as also successfully got the U.S. Figure Skating Championships in 1992.
Kristi Yamaguchi also landed up with the two national titles in the years 1989 as well as 1990 and in 1988 also held the junior world title in the form of a pair skater accompanied with Rudy Galindo. She got the induction to the U.S. Olympic Hall of Fame in the month of December, 2005. She worked as the commentator on the local level on figure skating providing her services to NBC 11 at the time of Winter Olympic that took place in the year 2006.
It was declared as on February 18, 2008 that Kristi Yamaguchi would be making an appearance on the Season 6 of Dancing with the Stars. She was the daughter of a dentist namely Jim Yamaguchi as well as a secretary in medical field namely Carole Doi. Her parents had to move to an internment camp at the time of World War II. She initiated her education at the Mission San Jose High School and started with skating during her childhood to provide physical therapy to her club feet.
In the year 1988, Kristi Yamaguchi successfully achieved the pairs titles along with Galindo in the World Junior Pair Championships and further in 1990 they again landed up with the senior U.S. championships pairs title. She was counter-clockwise and on the other hand Galindo played on the clockwise position. She shifted to Edmonton, Alberta in order to get training from the coach namely Christy Ness in the year 1991. In the similar year she held the second position at the U.S. championships after Tonya Harding as well as achieved silver medals at the National levels from the last three consecutive years.
Kristi Yamaguchi also successfully managed to get 1991 World Championships that was organised in Munich, Germany. She tied her marital knots with the hockey player playing at NHL level namely Bret Hedican as on 8th July, 2000. In recent times they both along with their two daughters namely Keara Kiyomi and Emma Yoshiko are living in Raleigh, North Carolina. She built the Always Dream Foundation for kids in the year 1996.
