Professional wrestler is the person who usually performs what is called catch wrestling. In this type of wrestling, he or she is adept in grappling and striking techniques. Being in a sports considered to be tremendously physical, one is required to undergo intense and disciplined training.

Professional wrestlers wrestle in many types of sports entertainment wrestling. In sports entertainment wrestling, the winner is determined beforehand. The most famous sports entertainment wrestling is TNA wrestling mostly participated by the professional.

Other types of wrestling frequently participated by professional wrestlers are shoot style wrestling, which is a combat sport as opposed to the feud wrestling. Shoot style wrestling is rare in United States and commonly performed by the wrestlers in Japan.

Professional wrestlers usually like to take part in most popular sports entertainment wrestling like TNA Wrestling and World Wrestling Entertainment. Being a sports entertainment, this wrestling has storylines and well planned argument and fight between the participant wrestlers and they have to follow the storyline with preplanned sequence. Sometimes wrestlers, trying to give a real look to the preplanned fight, deviate from the original preplanned sequence, which is called shoot.

While the majority of the professional wrestlers are men, women wrestlers are also there, though women wrestling are not considered as the main wrestling event, especially in the United States. The men wrestlers are commonly extremely large in their body

According to the wrestling style, the division of professional wrestlers and the competitions are made. Their divisions are done on the basis of technical style, high flying, brawling, and hardcore. Wrestlers display some certain types of behavioral attitude projected as volume. Hulk Hogan, Batista, Yokozuna, The Great Khali, Glen Jacobs are some of them. the trademark of their masculinity, power and physical fitness.

Most professional wrestlers are athletically trained. To maintain the physical capabilities and flexibility, they have to undergo strenuous training for many hours every day. It is a result of them being meticulous in their practice to learn the techniques so that their every move can be executed safely and would look like a dangerous and real one. Having been through constant endurance training under careful supervision, they achieved the skill so that their every move and performance can be designed to blur the line between the reality and fake.

In spite of having thousands of professional wrestlers, only a few have been able to leave a lasting impression in the wrestling industry. Frank Gotch was the first recognized champion, wrestling in 1990s. Another champion who has been capable of holding his title for a long time was Lou Thesz. He used to wrestle in 1940s to 1960. One of the most respected wrestlers was Italian born Bruno Sammartino who has been more known for his both athletic and technical skills. Catch wrestling
