New York Giant Parade Victory Celebrations Of Super Bowl XLLII 2008

This year New York City had decided to do the event of ticker-tape parade in a celebration of Giants victory against the Patriots in Super Bowl XLLII 2008. This New York Giant parade was held on 5th February from 11 a.m. The parade started from the Battery Park and continues to the north on Broadway to the way of Chambers Street, and end in front of City Hall. It is 165th parade in the history of ticker-tape parade.

New York Giant parade is the second ticker-tape parade of this century; the year 2000 celebrated the first one. In this year 2000 New York celebrated centurys first parade on the occasion of Yankees celebration of the World Series victory over the Mets.

The organized procession of people is called parade. The people who take part in the procession wear costume along with floats and some times large lighter than air balloons are in there hand. In Britain the term parade is used only for military parades or other occasions where people march in particular arrangement but the event of ticker-tape parade started on 29th October in the year 1886 at New York, which was held in a tribute to Statue of Liberty and the tradition still continued to New York Giant parade.

The New York Giant parade was planned secretly by the city officials. There was an arrangement of viewers to stand on the east and west sides of whole route of parade in addition with the area on the east side of Park Place. At the City Hall Park, 4500 people watched the 1 p.m. ceremony. The hall has the capacity of 4200 seats, extra 300 seats added only for the ceremony of 5th February.

There are 317 sanitation workers, 38 sanitation officers engaged to use 126 backpack blowers, 41 hand brooms, 30 mechanical street sweepers, 12 front-end loaders, 12 collection trucks, and 3 water flushers was appointed by The New York City Department of Sanitation to clean the streets of Lower Manhattan at the end of New York Giant parade.

At the end of New York Giant parade Mayor Mike Bloomberg had given the key to the Giant in presence of New York Governor Eliot Spitzer, United States Senator Chuck Schumer, New York State Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver, Singer Kate Mara and The Brooklyn Steppers Marching Band. The Giants players including Tom Coughlin, Michael Strahan Eli Manning and coaches, Giants co-owners John Mara and Steve Tisch, Giants radio voice Bob Papa were represent the team.

The brass skeleton keys which were given to the players at the City Hall ceremony of New York Giant parade were made by Ashburns Engravers with a seal of the city, which is attached by the orange and blue enamel rings. All the keys are six inches long and weighed five ounces. Giants parade
