O Douglas Longest Serving Supreme Court Associate Justice
William Orville Douglas popularly known as O Douglas was a Supreme Court Associate Justice of United States. He became the longest-serving justice in the history of the Court by serving for a period of thirty-six years and seven months and retired on 12th November 1975. He was born on 16th October 1898 in Maine Township located in Minnesota. He was given several nicknames like The Lone Ranger and The Great Dissenter. He died on 19th January 1980 at the age of 81 and has been buried in Arlington National Cemetery.
