Faith Of The Heart Star Trek Enterprise Theme Song Remake


Faith of the Heart is a song written by Diane Warren and sung by a number of artists. A re-worked version of the song titled Where My Heart Will Take Me formed the theme song of the popular television series Star Trek: Enterprise. Later a version of the song was performed by Russell Watson as the Athletes Theme at the 2002 Commonwealth Games.

The song Faith of the Heart was originally written by Diane Warren and recorded by famous English pop singer Rod Stewart. The song performed by Stewart appeared in the Academy Award nominated film Patch Adams in 1998 in which it reechoed the theme of having confidence in ones own beliefs. The film in fact went on to win an Oscar nomination for the Best Original Musical Score.

Faith of the Heart was also sung by best selling Contemporary Christian Music artist Susan Ashton. The song formed part of her music album titled Closer and peaked at number 51 on the U.S Country Singles chart. the album which was released in 1999 could not match up to the commercial success of her previous albums like Wakened by the Wind and Angels of Mercy but included popular numbers like Youre Lucky I Love You.

In 2000 the song Faith of the Heart was reworked and re-recorded as Where My Heart Will Take Me to provide the theme song for the immensely popular science fiction television series Star Trek: Enterprise. This was the first time that a theme song for the Star Trek series had not been specifically composed for the program. The theme song was performed by English tenor Russell Watson. it received a mixed reception from the Star Trek fans and the series producers later brought out a livelier upbeat version of the song.

The song Faith of the Heart has an inspirational theme which speaks of following ones aim no matter what the obstacles are. The song comes under the genre of pop or soft pop music. In its later version as Where My Heart Will Take Me the song was played as a wake up call for the crew of space shuttle Discovery in the STS-114 mission in 2005 and again in the STS-118 mission in 2007.

The lyrics of the song Faith of the Heart were written by Diane Warren who is one of the most successful songwriters in the American music industry. Among all the songs written by her around seventy have featured in films or television shows. Most of her songs have romantic or inspirational themes.
