2005 Las Vegas Car Shows Of Used Vintage Classic Vehicles


2005 Las Vegas Car Shows are many in number and have varied events attached to car displays. There are shows of used cars, vintage cars, classic cars and the SEMA show. SEMA stands for Specialty Equipment Market Association. It started in 1967 and was held at the Dodger stadium in Los Angeles, California.

The first ever SEMA auto show in 1967 drew only 3000 visitors with 98 booths and five display vehicles. As one of the most important of the 2005 Las Vegas car shows it had more than 10,000 booths and 2,000 vehicles. The 2005 edition was the 28th presentation of the association and it represented a market worth $31 billion that revolves around wheel, tires and almost everything else that are needed by the automobile industry. It is gaining popularity as more and more people are going for vehicle customization.

SEMA originally held the event on just 14,000 square feet area but soon the need was such that it had to move to the Las Vegas Convention Centre to use up about 1 million square feet of space and become one of the main events in the 2005 Las Vegas car shows calendar. It has now become a place for showing the creativity and ingenuity of the auto market. For a week in November, Las Vegas, Nevada transformed into a heaven for the car gadget lovers with the organizers adding 20 percent more products than the previous year.

The SEMA auto show, one of the 2005 Las Vegas car shows, is basically about a display of the after market merchandising. It has become a launch site for the tuned up products of both the auto manufacturers and after market companies. One can check out the many sides of vehicle customization and personalization available in the industry. So while the show was actually for the after market manufacturers, the participation of auto manufacturers are also on the rise.

Of the 2005 Las Vegas car shows, the SEMA show had 2000 customized vehicles on display to attract prospective vendors and customization companies while the auto companies were there to attract the young buyers with their vehicles which could be tuned according to personal preferences. One such company was Honda. It was judged manufacturer of the show and the sport concept Civic Si was judged the car of the show. It was customized by AEM/DC Sports, Mackin, Greddy, Tein Hasport, etc. Honda also displayed its performance oriented suspensions, wheels, mufflers, etc.

The other manufacturers at this show of the 2005 Las Vegas car shows were Volkswagen, Ford, Hyundai, Mitsubishi, Subaru and Toyota. Volkswagen brought a number of vehicles specially tuned for performance like the Touareg R-GT, Passat R-GT and Jetta R-GT. Ford had the GTX-1 Roadster concept modified by Gennadi Design while introduced the two-door hatchback. There were Mitsubishis Ralliart variants; SubarusImpreza WRX TR and Toyotas Yaris compact car and FJ cruiser SUV. Auto show
