Released in 1965, The Sound Of Music was directed and produced by Robert Wise. Russel Crouse and Earnest Lehman wrote the book. With music by Oscar Hammerstein II and Richard Rogers, the film was based on the Broadway musical The Sound of Music. Julie Andrews played the lead role. The Twentieth Century Fox Film Corporation distributed the film rights.
