Taryn Manning was born on November 6, 1978 in Falls Church, Virginia and is a versatile lady established as an actress, dancer, fashion designer as well as a singer and songwriter. She had performed roles in movies like Hustle & Flow, Cold Mountain, crazy/beautiful, Crossroads to name a few of them.

Taryn Manning is working as a vocalist being associated with the band namely Boomkat along with her brother Kellin Manning. She witnessed the divorce of her parents that took place in the year 1981 and after that her mother carried on with the jobs of a secretary and waitress to fullfill her responsibilities towards Taryn and Kellin. Her father namely Bill Manning was the cousin of Archie Manning and earnt his living by working as a musician as well as hotel manager.

At the age of 14, she lost her father, who committed suicide as he got fed up of the complex life. She used to then reside with her mother in a trailer park which was quite difficult. She was brought up in Tucson, Arizona and later moved to Los Alamitos, California to pursue her education at Orange County High School of the Arts. Taryn Manning initiated her dancing, when she was 12 years old. She used to kickboxes and also did Tae Bo.

Taryn Manning is quite talented and was a champion dancer, rollerskater. She also had the third degree green belt in the field of karate. She was also given the honor of being the State Champion in Karate in Arizona. She started displaying her acting skills at the offset of 1990s and was seen doing little roles in many movies and television in episodes like Boston Public, NYPD Blue, The Practice, Get Real as well a Popular. She worked in the drama film namely Hustle & Flow with the star Terrence Howard in the year 2005 as a prostitute, who is having a tough life in Memphis, Tennessee.

Her performance in this movie got her the nomination in Washington DC Area Film Critics Association Awards being placed in the category of Best Breakthrough Performance for: Hustle & Flow. Taryn Manning is recently working on the 2008 movie namely Shifter with the other stars as Bai Ling and Singer Samantha Mumba.
