Bedazzled Golden Trailer Award Winning Movie Starring Brendan Fraser

The movie Bedazzled was made twice, once in 1967 and the second time in 2000 with the same name. It is based on the age old cliché of the fight between the good i.e. the godly urges of man and his bad or the satanic urges. This movie is the story of an introverted and dissatisfied young man working at a fast-food outlet and his silent and frustrated infatuation towards Margaret who works as a waitress in the same joint.

Stanley Moon (Moore) is so disgusted with his frustrated passion that he makes an incompetent attempt at suicide and is at that very moment interrupted by the devil. The name of the Devil in the movie Bedazzled is George Spiggott (Cook). The devil has started a contest with God as to which one of them will be able to gather 100 billion souls. If Spiggott manages to do that first he will be once again allowed admittance into heaven.

In the movie Bedazzled, the Devil in the incarnation of Spiggot sees Stanley as a weak person. He offers Stanley seven wishes in lieu of his soul. Stanley takes these wishes as an opportunity to satisfy his passion for Margaret, but Spiggott cleverly juggles and twists his word in such a way that Stanley is unable to consume any of his desires. In one instance, he gives Stanley the incarnation of a nun, because Stanley had been specific about every aspect of what he wished, but forgot to mention the gender and profession.

In this way throughout the movie Bedazzled the Devil in the incarnation of Spiggott plays with Stanleys mind and frustrates him even further. But later in the movie he lets go of Stanley out of sheer pity and also because he has collected more than his quota of 100 billion souls. And Stanley returns to his original incarnation of a guy working in a fast food outlet, but much more stable headed and wiser towards the realities of life. Whereas the Devil is again denied entry into heaven by God because he fails his final interview with god.

In the end of the movie Bedazzled, the Devil threatens God that he will cover the world with unhealthy things born out of modern technology like Tastee-Freez and Wimpy Burgers. All in all this movie has the elements of morality and humour very well balanced in its storyline. The artists have also played their parts very well.

The movie Bedazzled made in 2000 stars Brendan Fraser and Elizabeth Hurley. This movie won the Golder Trailer award of 2001 for its title sequence. It is as hilarious and satirical as the one made in 1967 and was a major hit. Bedazzled
