Henry Curtis Thompson, popularly known as Hank Thompson, was an American player in the Negro Leagues and Major League Baseball. He used to play primarily as a third baseman. Hank was a left-handed batter, who played with the Kansas City Monarchs in the years 1943, 1946-48, St. Louis Brownsin 1947 and New York Giants from 1949-56. He was well liked by his teammates and the Giants' fans as he possessed a powerful throwing arm that covered the outfield with grace.

John Stallworth or Johnny Lee Stallworth, was an All-Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference receiver for Alabama A&M in 1972 and 1973. He was a native of Tuscaloosa, Alabama and played football in college at Alabama A&M, by becoming the Pittsburgh Steelers fourth-round draft pick in 1974. From 1974 through 1987 he played for the Pittsburgh Steelers for 14 seasons. To give the Steelers unusually potent pass-receiving tandems, the 6-2, 191-pound speedster teamed first with Lynn Swann and then later with Louis Lipps.

Three time winner Sam Hornish Jr. and this years winner Dario Franchitti are joining NASCAR full time. Recently, Indy 500 winner, Juan Pablo Montoya has left F1 racing to join NASCAR full time. Both Hornish and Franchitti will compete as rookies in the Nextel Cup this year.
