The Sierra Research Institute and the National Women's Hall of Fame had ranked her among the ten most influential people in education and she was also considered as the one of the hundred most influential lady of the 20th century. Unfortunately, she died in the year 1994. Madeline Hunter was the daughter of Alexander Cheek, grandson of a Cherokee Indian and Anna Keis who was the daughter of a Bohemian nobleman.
