Boxer Dog Fantastic Bulldog Bullenbeisser Breed


Boxer Dog is a German breed dog. This particular breed was first developed in Germany. This medium-sized and short-haired dog is a breed of sturdy hair and many other specialties. It has smooth coat and it is brindled. It may or may not have white markings. Boxer dogs have a square muzzle and a kind of this dog is an underbite. These dogs have a powerful bite and very strong jaws. These qualities are especially ideal for going to large prey.

The Boxer Dog was bred from the Bullenbeisser and Bulldog. It is a part of the Molosser group. The Bullenbeisser species is now completely extinct. The first exhibition of Boxer Dog took place in a dog show for St. Bernards at Munich in 1895. In 1896, the first Boxer club was established. It has been noticed that Boxers are extremely faithful and child friendly. Even the toddlers are safe with them.

There has been many statistics made to monitor the population and behavior of Boxer Dog. You will find in the 2007 American Kennel Club statistics that Boxers have been considered as the sixth most popular breed of dog as surveyed in California, North Carolina, Utah, New York, Tennessee and almost all parts of the country. In 2002, roughly 35,388 new dog registrations have been made during the year.

A healthy Boxer Dog is as tall as 21 inches to 25 inches. The shiny, close-fitting hair in their body looks elegant. The activity level learning rate of the dog is very high. These dogs seem playful, energetic, highly intelligent, eager, curious, happy and high-spirited. With the ability to learn quickly, the owner of any such dog will be surprised to notice their independent thinking, loyalty and affection.

A Boxer Dog generally has life span of 10 years to 12 years. These dogs have high guarding and watch-dog ability. As the breed has the inclination to play while standing on its rear legs and boxing with its front paws, the name Boxer seems appropriate. The breeds tendency really justifies its name. It is also interesting to note that the first known kind of the breed was Lechner's Box.

Head is the most unique characteristic of the Boxer Dog. According to the breed standard, head must be in perfect proportion with the body. The tip of the nose of this dog generally lies higher than the source of the muzzle. Moreover, the lower jaw normally projects beyond the upper jaw. It also bends somewhat upwards, which is generally called an underbite. Boxers are very human friendly companion. They also take part in many popular dog shows. Boxer
