WCSC-TV is the CBS-affiliated television station for Charleston, South Carolina. WCSC shares a news agreement with the area's FOX affiliate WTAT-TV that is possessed by the Sinclair Broadcast Group. WCSC produces daily 10 P.M newscasts and in the weekdays at 7 AM on that station. The 10 P.M. news is presently the second highest rated newscast in the market behind WCSC.

The WCSC station is engaged in broadcasting a digital signal on UHF channel 47 and an analog signal on VHF channel 5. WCSC's transmitter is based in Seewee Roadin Awendaw. The station's studios are situated on Charlie Hall Boulevardin the West Ashley section of Charleston. WCSC is possessed by Lincoln Financial Media and is popular on air as Live 5 News.

WCSC signed on in the year 1953, from its original studios on East Bay Streetin Downtown Charleston. It is the oldest continuously broadcasting station in the state and the second television station to sign on in South Carolina. The first station to sign on in the state was WCOS-TV in Columbia, which occurred a few months before WCSC. However, it stopped in the year 1956 and made its comeback in the year 1961, and was known as the WCCA-TV. That station however today is known as WOLO-TV. WCSC is the one and only station in Charleston to keep its original association since its inception.

Along with the WCSC radio, WCSC TV was originally owned by The Rivers Family, The Rivers Family sold WCSC-AM-FM-TV to Crump Communications of Houston in 1987. Crump again sold off the radio stations in the year 1989 but kept channel 5 in their possession until finally selling it to Jefferson-Pilot Corporation in 1994. Lincoln Financial Group amalgamated with Jefferson-Pilot on October 10, 2005. The sale became final on 3rd of April 2006.

The WCSC station has been a trendsetter in South Carolina for newscasts as it extended its evening newscast from thirty minutes to two hours. In 1991, WCSC changed to a one-hour format starting at 6 PM. In 1997, the station decided to move the CBS Evening News from 7 PM slot to the 6:30 PM slot, resulting in a 90-minute local newscast beginning at 5 PM. On 2007, Lincoln Financial Media went into an agreement to sell WCSC, along with Lincoln Financial Sports and the company's two other television stations for $583 million to Raycom Media.

On 13th December, 2007 WCSC introduced news opens, new graphics and also has very recently changed to a new 7 Day Forecast format from there 5-Day Forecast. The future standing of the news share agreement between WCSC and WTAT is not known clearly as WCSC is being sold to Raycom. WCSC-TV
