Nikki Mckibbin Rock Singer Songwriter And Third Ranked In American Idol

Nikki McKibbin or Katherine Nicole McKibbin is a rock music singer and songwriter. She came third in the American Idol – the reality television show, in 2002. She was one of the top twenty finalists of International television series Popstars. Her debut album Unleashed was released on 22nd May 2007.

Nikki McKibbin was born on September 28, 1978 in Grand Prairie, Texas. She finished her graduation from Cosmetology school, joined the business and founded Angelfire Productions. It is a Karaoke company. To concentrate on music she sold the company in 2005. She used to sing at the Dallas Coyote Ugly bar. She is a single mother and has a son. Before American idol she was in need of money so much that she had to work as a stripper.

After qualifying for American Idol Nikki McKibbin signed with 19 Entertainment, a leading producer of entertainment properties in the United Kingdom, and RCA record company. She was on request of making a country album. But she was determined to remain strictly in rock music. According to her, she is a rocker not a country singer.

Nikki McKibbin appeared on the holiday CD Christmas in a Fishbowl with other reality stars for Fishbowl.com in 2004. McKibbin began to appear in several reality shows such as NBC series Fear Factor, Battle of the Network Reality Stars in 2005. She also appeared in Entertainment television series Kill Reality.

Nikki McKibbin plays a role of a singer in the documentary film The Scorned. After the movie premiered on October 31, 2005 she was accepted into the Screen Actors Guild. She made an appearance in band Rivetheads music video Youre So Cold.

After joining the rock band Downside in May 2005 Nikki Mckibbin did several shows together with them including at the Hard Rock Café in Dallas. Mckibbin left the band in September 2005 because she had a different creative taste than the band. That is the reason why she signed the contract with Astral Records. In 2006 she and Astral Record separated and she exclusively signed to Chenoa Records.

Nikki Mckibbin married Joshua Ozment in July 2001 and divorced in 2002. Her only son Tristan was born in 1997. She does not eat red meat. The title of her first CD is Step Back into Reality. She was one of the top 20 finalists on the first season of Popstars.

Nikki Mckibbin is a former High School Cheerleader and plays the piano and trumpet very well. People would tease her for her rocker-chick-style during her growing years. Though every one in the American Idol praised her for her originality she made fun of this. To promote her album she tours with Texas band Riverthead. Nikki McKibbin
