Susan Oliver remains to be one of the most popular persons in the world of Entertainment Industry. This beautiful lady was born on 13th February 1932. However, Susan was not her original name. She was named Charlotte Gercke and was the daughter of a journalist George Gercke. However, she was deprived of her mothers love right from her early age as her parents divorced and her father took her in.

Susan Olivers father was sent on duty to Japan by the United States Information Agency. It was the time when the Second World War was in progress and so; he felt it unsafe to leave his daughter back in the States. So, he took her with him. It was there that she joined the Tokyo International College. Apart from studies, she developed a huge fascination towards knowing the lifestyle of the people living there.

Susan Oliver became interactively involved with the Japanese society and it was here that she started developing the knack getting involved in the pop culture, along with them. Anyway, she returned back to the States after one year, but by then she decided to make her career in the field of singing and acting. With this intention in mind, she joined the Swarthmore College in order to study drama. After completing the studies, she joined the famous training institute Neighborhood Playhouse before taking her first step in the industry.

Susan Oliver began her career as an actress in various Television Series. She also acted in various on stage plays like the Small War on Murray Hill in the Broadway theatre. Very soon she was given the opportunity to act in bigger roles in TV plays like Kaiser Aluminum Hour, Matinee Theatre and The United states steel Hour. At the same time, she entered Hollywood as well. She performed in various shows and a few of the low budget movies.

Susan Oliver had more interest in these television shows, than the big screens. She was very popular after her performances in episodes of Andy Griffith Show, Twilight Zone and Star Trek. However, towards the end of her career, she started starring in a few movies like Looking For Love, The Disorderly Orderly and Your Cheatin Heart. She had also been a director before her death in 1990, due to lung cancer.Susan Oliver
