The Situation Room CNN News Cast Host Correspondent Wolf Blitze

The Situation Room is a reputed afternoon/early evening newscast aired on CNN TV channel. The program is hosted by the renowned CNN correspondent Wolf Blitze. It was on August 8, 2005, when the newscast first went in the air.This program's broadcast was significant enough as it became a substitute of three programs related to hard news and politics(that included Wolf Blitzer's reports too.)

The Situation Room earlier used to be telecast from 3 to 6 p.m live in the evening. During that period, each hour was scheduled for the politics, security and international news.From 2 November, 2005,the program was decided to be subdivided into two blocks: one would be from 4pm to 6pm while the other would be from 7pm to 8pm. But, soon the schedule got a change and follwed the earlier timing.

The Situation Room has often been criticized for paying too much of an interest to human interest stories.For example there was one news which was about a virus doing damages to the Windows 2000 computers. John Stewart, the witty satirist, frequently made a parody of the show by simulating the atmosphere of the Situation Room. Or the Saturday Night Live wchich mocked the show for its excessive coverage of the consequences brought by the death of Anna Nicole Smith. But, on the other hand, the newscast has also garnered appreciation for its high-fi multi'screen coverage of the Hurricane Katrina.

The Situation Room is a bit special in someway from the rest of the newscasts.It is because of the technologies that are being used during the show. There is the use of eight video screens. Besides, two control rooms are taken for conducting the whole program. Use of the live RSS feeds, live video feeds etc are all part of the stuffs that make the show a successful one. CNN's studio (in Washington D.C) is the venue whrere from the show is telecast.

The Situation Room is also the name of the famous conferrence room in the White House.It is located at an area of 5,000 sq. ft in the basement of the west wing of the white house.The room is maintained and conducted by the National Security Council staff.
