
The stages of pregnancy is usually comprised of three stages or trimesters and each stage has a duration of 3 months. There are no strict divisions but they are generally made to highlight the changes that usually turns up in a span of time.
Pregnancy can be calculated through a number of factors like day of last menstruation, ovulation, fertilization, implantation as well as chemical detection. As per the medical terms, stages of pregnancy initiates, when the developing embryo gets implanted in the endometrial lining of the uterus of a woman.

During this period the outer part of embryo grows up and develops a placenta in order to get required nutrients from the uterine wall also called as endometrium. The umbilical cord that is found attached to the newly born kid is the remains of its attachment to the placenta. At the time of foetal development, the embryo shows large amount of growth as well as changes. Nearly seventy percent of the women experience morning sickness, which they overcome at the end of the first stages of pregnancy. This period is also prone to lots of miscarriages.
The time period from 4 to 6 months falls into the second stages of pregnancy. Many women tends to get lots of energy during this period and become weighty as morning sickness goes off. It is during this trimester that the movement of the foetus also called as quickening can be felt by the women and basically takes place during the fourth month. The foetus starts creating insulin as well as urinates. The teeths and reproductive organs are developed and its easy to make out if its a male or female.
During the third stages of pregnancy foetus makes movement on regular basis and the navel of woman takes a convex shape and comes out as a result of the increase in size of the abdomen. She undergoes lots of discomfort like weak bladder control and back-ache. The rolling of foetus near her ribs may result in extreme pain. During this stage of pregnancy a premature baby, who takes birth may live.
