Ryan Mallett Quarter Back Michigan Wolverines Player

Ryan Mallett, who was born on the 5th of June 1988, in Texarkana, Texas, is a football player. He plays in the quarter back position for the Michigan Wolverines team. Mallet completed his graduation from the Texas High School and was ranked the second best quarterback and the fourth best overall player in the whole of America by the Rivals.com site. In 2006 Mallet was declared the Gatorade player of the year in Texas.

Ryan Mallett was part of the US Army All-American bowl in 2007. Mallet was also the winner of the Glenn Davis Army Award under the category of the best player in the West team. Mallet outmaneuvered and outdid the unanimously agreed best quarterback of the nation, Jimmy Clausen.

Ryan Mallet first appeared for the Michigan Wolverines team in the second of the 2007 season. The game was being played against Oregon. He entered the game as a substitute. Chad Henne sustained an injury and Mallet replaced him. It was in the third quarter that he entered and successfully completed six out of the seventeen passes for 49 yards. He also managed to make one interception. The week after the game against Oregon, Mallet was given the opportunity to start a game against Notre Dame. He played a huge role in the Wolverines 38-0 victory. He threw three amazing touchdown passes. In this game he completed seven out of fifteen passes with 90 yards.

It was in the next week that Ryan Mallet got his first chance to start a Big Ten conference game. This was against Penn State. His return in this game was even better. He managed to complete sixteen out of twenty-nine passes with 170 yards and even made an interception.

Ryan Mallet also scored a touchdown in the first quarter of the game. In the next three games the regular quarterback of the team, Chad Henne started the games and Mallet had very limited opportunity to play. The next chance that Mallet got to start a game was Minnesota. He was able to throw one touchdown pass and successfully completed eleven out of the twenty passes with 233 yards and couldnt make any interceptions.

In Michigan Wolverines next game against Wisconsin, Ryan Mallet started again. This time he made three touchdown passes and went 11/36 with 245 yards along with two successful interceptions. In this game, in the fourth quarter, Mallet threw a 97-yard pass to Mario Manningham. That was the longest completed pass in the history of the Wolverines team. There have been a lot of speculations about the fact that Mallet is going to leave the University of Michigan. This is so because the new coach of the team, Rich Rodriguez, has certain new plans for the team and Mallet doesnt fit into them.Ryan Mallet
