Aerospace Engineer Design Aircraft Aerodynamics Fluid Mechanics

Aerospace engineer is a person who is trained to design, develop, and get the aircrafts tested before they are ready for their ultimate flight. They test aircraft, spacecraft as well as missiles apart from managing the entire process of production. People who are skilled to design and develop aircrafts in particular are called aeronautical engineers. People who are deployed for making particularly spacecraft are called astronautical engineers.

Aerospace engineer is required to improve and develop new technologies that comply with the aviation industry. These technologies are used in the defense systems and also for exploring the space. Aerospace engineers are experts in improving structural design. They also contribute in navigation and controlling of the aircraft. Their job is also related to instrumentation and communication and the overall production methods of an aircraft.
Their job is classified under various specializations depending on the type of aerospace product they are making for example commercial aircraft, fighter jets, helicopters, spacecraft, or missiles and rockets. They have the option of becoming an expert in aerodynamics, thermodynamics, celestial mechanics, acoustics, or guidance and control systems.

An Aerospace engineer needs to study the following important features of aircraft building. For example they learn Fluid mechanics, which is a study of the flow of fluid surrounding an object. Typically aerodynamics relates to the study of the flow of air over external bodies like wings or of the air that passes through objects like wind tunnels.Astrodynamics is concerned with the study of orbital mechanics that covers the subject of manipulation, determination, and prediction of orbital elements with only a few variables given. In United States not many schools teach this subject at the undergraduate level.

Another element that the Aerospace engineer has to learn is Statics and Dynamics that includes the study of movement, forces and moments in the mechanical systems. Mathematics is a compulsory subject since most of the aerospace engineering subjects are based on equations and mathematical manipulation and derivatives. Electrotechnology is also studied to enhance the knowledge of electronics related to engineering.

Propulsion is another important chapter related to this field that deals with the study of energy. It studies the movement of a vehicle through air or outer space. The energy is generated internal combustion engines, jet engines and turbo machinery. Electric propulsion has been recently added to the subject. A favorite profession for any Aerospace engineer at a senior level is to teach in various engineering colleges. Aerospace engineering
