Women for Women International is an organization that aims at empowering women to change their lives by introducing a holistic approach to addressing the needs of the women, unique to the regions having conflict and post-conflict environment.

The Women for Women International begins by working with destitute women who have lost everything to conflict and have nowhere to turn to. The organization runs a one-year program to develop these women from the victims of conflict to a survivor and in turn makes them active citizens who can further contribute to the development of the conflict torn societies. Under the Sponsorship program of Women for Women International a one-to-one connection is made between the sponsor from USA or any of the 55 nations and the participant in places where the organization works.

The sponsors of Women for Women provide a monthly financial support of $27 for one year. This amount enables the woman to get the basic amenities like food, clean water, medicine, schoolbooks and use the money for starting projects for future income. The women are sisters and keep contact with one another through letters and communication with the sponsors provide solace to the women of the conflict-ravaged areas.

Women for Women International provide job training to the women. The market-based skills are developed to enable them to find employment or start new businesses. Their skills in traditional and non-traditional fields are honed to access future employment opportunities for becoming economically self-sufficient.

Local instructors by Women for Women International are hired after thoroughly assessing the market for the nature of the jobs and skills in demand. The jobs include food processing, carpentry, shoemaking, carpet weaving, electrical repair, beekeeping and horticulture, etc. the women are also imparted technical training in economic skills like small business development like forming business co-operatives, marketing, basic accounting, etc.
