Mark Speight BBC SMart Television Presenter

Mark Warwick Speight, popularly known as Mark Speight, was born in Wolverhampton, England in 1965 and made his name as a British TV presenter particularly during his tenure with the BBC presenting the children's art program SMart.

Mark Speight appeared on numerous shows for the BBC, CITV and The Discovery Channel covering a variety of programs based on children's TV show to reality programs for the adults. Speight hosted the series Beat the Cyborgs, SMarteenies and the Saturday morning show Scratchy and Co. He appeared on Blue Peter, The Saturday Show and The Heaven and Earth Show. Till date his most popular show happened to be Smart. He presented SMart with a lot of co-presenters beginning 1994.

Mark Speight did his graduation with commercial and graphic art. He appeared on the Celebrities vs. Jockeys Special of the ITV show Gladiators in 1997 and became a contestant in Celebrity Wrestling televised in April 2005. His smoothly rising career took a wild turn last Thursday on January 3, 2008, when Speight was booked in connection with the death of his fiancée and former co-worker, Natasha Collins. She was found dead in the bath of their London flat. Speight was the first one to witness her dead body. He was also arrested on drugs related charges particularly for supplying cocaine. He was released on bail the next day but only till February first week.

The police found the dead body of his fiancée at Mark Speights residential flat in St John's Wood around 13.20 on January 3rd. Speight was arrested immediately after. Mark as a perfect artist used his commercial and graphic designing skills to achieve great effect on the TV show SMart. He performed on different program on CITV and The Discovery Channel. He also has a philanthropic side to his character. Mark works with charity missions and loves the Christmas times when he can take part in pantomimes.

Mark Speight is left-handed. Once he appeared on an unsuccessful Saturday Morning show called Scratchy and Co. After his arrest BBC have suspended broadcast of shows which feature Speight as presenter. Keeping his involvement with various charities Speight usually gets involved in pantomime especially during the Christmas period. He performed in Cinderella at the Watersmeet, Rickmansworth in December 2007. Mark enjoyed a long-standing relation with Natasha Collins with whom he shared the same office at work.
