Jeremy Hotz Gemini Award Winning Actor


Jeremy Hotz is a Canadian actor and stand-up comedian who appeared on the popular shows Comedy Central Presents, the Just For Laughs comedy festival, The Late Show with David Letterman, and The Tonight Show with Jay Leno. For short span he became a writer for Paramount's The Jon Stewart Show. He was a regular feature in various Hollywood and Canadian motion pictures including: My Favorite Martian, Speed 2: Cruise Control, and Married Life.

In 1997 Jeremy Hotz won a Gemini Award for his role on the television series The Newsroom. He was nominated for his part in Married Life. Hotz has recently finished shooting the pilot of My Life and a Movie for Muse Entertainment and Adjacent 2 Productions. He is also working on another untitled comedy series designed for Canadian network release.

In the beginning of his career Jeremy Hotz wrote and starred in his own comedy special in Canada on the CBC Comics series. The name of the series was Whatever happened to Jeremy Hotz? He got nominated for a Gemini in Best Writing in Comedy or Variety Show or Series for this project. In 2006 he won Best Taped Live Performance Canadian Comedy Award for his Just for Laughs stand-up comedy performance. A DVD filmed at the World Famous Laugh Factory in Hollywood will soon be released.

Jeremy Hotz was born on May 31, 1962 in Cape Town, South Africa. He believes that to be a successful stand-up comedian one has to be funny and also smart at the same time. Jeremy Hotz represents the unique combination of the two. He had another stellar performance in Just For Laughs at this year's Montreal Comedy Festival. Jeremy grabs his audiences with his confused yet very shrewd ways of comic style. Jeremy is another common man always challenged on every path of life but finds his way out through his naïve but witty sense of humor. He allows the audience to laugh at his everyday mishaps and adventures.

Jeremy Hotz once said that you fail at everything else to become a stand up comedian.
Jeremy performed at the local Yuk Yuks Comedy club on amateur nights. The owner became very supportive of him and thats how the stand-up comedy career of Jeremy Hotz began to rise. He appeared on CBC for its 50th Anniversary Special and also the half-hour sitcom Made in Canada. He recently appeared in Comedy Central's The Jeremy Hotz Special. He also guest appeared in MTV's Half Hour Comedy Hour. Jeremy Hotz
