American Gladiators is a television program that pits amateur athletes against each other in a competition. The show also has its own Gladiators to compete against in this game of strength and agility. It was originally conceived as a weekly syndication show and was aired that way from September 16, 1989 to May 11, 1996. It is being revived again as a prime-time series on the NBC TV network and premiered on January 6, 2008.
