Thurbert E Baker was born in 1952 in north of Carolina. Since1997 he is living in the state of Georgia, United States as the Attorney General. His personality speaks about the man.His prime objective as a Attorney General is nothing less than to guide the state to be a law abiding entity. He dealt strong handedly with all the criminals and cheaters. From his watchful eyes even the sexual predators who use the Internet to target children did not escape. He made strong laws against such social criminals.

Consecutively three times Thurbert E Baker is assigned the post of Attorney General. Beating his opponent by considerable margin, he even secured the highest percentage of votes than any other Democrats in 2006 elections. Recently he is appointed the President of National Association of Attorney Generals. He has introduced stringent laws against residential mortgage fraud and a new law against financial identity theft. In short, his name is enough to alarm the criminal mind.

Recently Thurbert E Baker was involved in the controversial legal proceeding of Genarlow Wilson. He has made an appeal against the ruling of Monroe County, Georgia, and declared that Genarlow Wilson's punishment is not unconstitutional and illegal. He advocated that Wilson should be treated as guilty in the scandal. Wilson was implicated on the ground of video tape where he was involved in an objectionable act of molestation. Wilson and his associates tried their level best to be free from this heinous charge of sexual crime. The Georgian law sets the punishment of molestation as at least 10 years of imprisonment.

In 2003 there was a clash between Thurbert E Baker and Governor Sonny on the subject of controlling the states legal affair. The controversy sparked when Perdue forced Baker to change his mind to not summon legislative members on the issue of redistricting map. And when Baker refused to stop, Perdue sued him in the court. As it was expected The Supreme Court of Georgia ultimately sided with Baker and ultimately he was powered with the post of elected constitutional officer, who will be independent of the Governor and has the power to control the state government's legal affairs.

Thurbert E Baker was also attached with Georgia House of Representatives (from 1989 to 1997), and from 1993 until his appointment as Attorney General. During his tenure as a Georgia House of Representatives he was busy in several activities of serving people. Baker introduced many significant legislation, including the HOPE Scholarship.

Thurbert E Baker from very early days of his life was very active. He graduated from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1975.
