Iowa Secretary Of State Michael Mauro

The current Iowa Secretary of State is Michael Mauro. He assumed office on the 7th of November 2006. He is the 30th Secretary of State, Iowa. Mauro is dedicated to the cause of State. He is Chairman of the State voter Registration Commission and a voting member of the Iowa Executive council. From 2003, he is the Certified elections/Registration Administrator (CERA). The CERA happens to be the highest certification in the field of election administration.

The Iowa Secretary of State is tuned towards the usage of modern day technology to meet the requirements of his people. He also believes in making the official procedure simple enough for the common man of Iowa to avail services, without facing a lot of procedural difficulties.

As the Iowa Secretary of State he believes in minimizing the costs incurred by a common Iowan in taking services. He is also determined to remove red tapism in his office. On the whole, the theme of his welfare measures is efficient and effective service to Iowans.

Before being elected to the post of Iowa Sate Secretary, he worked in the capacity of County Auditor for Polk County, which happens to be the largest of the ninety-nine counties of Iowa. He served in that position for about a period of ten years. In that period he customized the auditors office to suit the demands of people who availed its services.

In the early period of his career, the Iowa Secretary of State was a teacher and a trainer in a government high school. There he is committed to serving the youth and addressing youth issues. Mauro is a person who realizes the value and potential of youth. Hence in his noble endeavor to develop youth into capable and responsible citizens of his state, he visits them even to this day in schools and colleges and tries to inculcate and imbibe civic sense in them.

Mauro, the Iowa Secretary of State with a vision, believes in making the youth of today efficient, responsible and patriotic citizens of tomorrow. Hence he makes the youth aware of the significance of voting. He tells them how important it is for the common man to take active part in choosing his leader.

The Iowa Secretary of State also makes them understand the importance of getting voter education. This is because an educated voter will have the correct perception of the different electoral norms, the pros and cons of voting a candidate and healthy voter practices. Mauro also educates youth on electoral reforms.

The Iowa State Secretary, Michael Mauro is a Drake University Graduate. His wife Dorothy is dedicated to the welfare of Iowa agriculture. They have three children and four grandchildren. They are residents of Des Moines. Mauro
