USC Song Girls Cheer Leaders

USC Song Girls are actually the most renowned cheer girls of todays era. Their story begins from 1967 when seven young women were selected to cheer on the victory of the Trojan Football Team on the field of the Los Angeles Coliseum. This marked the beginning of these song girls in collegiate sports. In course of 40 years and after several National Championship the number of these girls increased to twelve. These girls are also popularly known as USC Song Leader.

USC Song Girls are famous all over the world. They look very impressive in their usual trademark white uniforms which are trimmed in Cardinal and Gold. These girls perform over three dozen new dances every year. Their popularity has increased to an enormous rate and now you can see these girls cheering for basketball as well as volleyball games also. They have also been highly acknowledged for giving mind blowing performances at University and alumni functions and rallies. They even conduct their own Junior Song Girl camp.

USC Song Girls are also the cover page of television, radio programs and commercials. They even appear in International background. These girls have almost done a world tour giving excellent performances in Austria, Italy, Hungary, France, Japan, Australia, Czech Republic and China. These girls are generally seen with USC Trojan Marching Band and are considered to be a lucky sign for them.

The USC Song Girls are remarkable than most of the other squad girls as they give higher standard performance. They work hard to bring innovative and exciting performances. They even make themselves sure that each time they come out with different choreography and have better performance than the last one. The members of the squad also maintain amicable relation with each other. They are very devoted to their work and practice for five days in a week along with their usual performances at sporting and other functions to excel their skill.

The selection procedure of USC Song Girls is very difficult. One needs to be determined since childhood for being one of its members. They should be well trained in dances like jazz and ballet. The girls who practice dance from childhood and had been the cheer leaders in high school have an added advantage. Apart from talent of dancing, the leaders even look after individual personality and their presence. While the USC Spirit leaders bring out the actual cheer from these girls.

USC Song Girls mainly works for the Trojan Marching Band. During the football season they sincerely work to come up with new choreography at the music of USC Band.
