Ira Einhorn Unicorn Killer

Ira Einhorn who is popularly known as The Unicorn Killer was born on May 15, 1940 in Philadelphia, PA.. He completed his graduation from Bryn Mawr College in suburban Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He was an antiwar activist 1960s and 1970s. In 1977, he was arrested for the execution of his girlfriend Holly Maddux and acquired the penalty of life imprisonment.

He had a five year affair with Holly Maddux. He and his girlfriend had a live-in relationship but slowly Maddux realized that Einhorn is self-centered, abusive and even a brutal man. In the past, he had some violent relationships with women. It can be said that Maddux remained with him for a long time because she was very scared to leave her friends and family hypothesised. They finally broke up in 1997 and Maddux departed to New York City where she got involved with Saul Lapidus. Hearing this, Ira Einhorn got furious and called her to Philadelphia to take her possessions. After that she was never seen again.

Ira Einhorn was then interrogated by police and gave an excuse that Maddux went out to a store and disappeared. His neighbours complained about the bad odour that came from his apartment in Powelton Village. They also said that sometimes some putrid brown matter from the floor above had caused the damage to their ceiling. Einhorn did not allow the building foreman to check the closet from which the smell was coming.

After this, the city police got attentive and found Maddux decomposed body from a trunk that was kept in Ira Einhorns appartment cupboard after eighteen months. Ira Einhorn was granted a bail before his trial. But in 1981, when his trial was about to start he eluded to Europe. There he traveled for 16 years and married a Swedish woman Annika Flodin. In 1993, the state of Pennsylvania had condemned him in absentia and without the trial gave him life imprisonment. Finally, he got arrested in Champagne-Mouton, France.

His trial brought forward the various interpretations of the France and the U.S government on the right to a fair trial. According to the current U.S laws, Ira Einhorn has to face the death penalty but France Government do not believe in death penalty and cannot deport him without the confidence that he will not face the death penalty.

He defended himself by stating that his former girlfriend was executed by CIA agents and they have entrapped him because Ira Einhorn was investigating the Cold War and psychotronics. But the jury did not believe his statement and asserted his condemnation on October 17, 2002. He is presently imprisoned in the state prison at Houtzdale in central Pennsylvania.
