Ted Haggard New Life Church Founder

Ted Haggard was born on 27th June in the year 1956 in Indiana. He is peculiarly known as Pastor Ted by the congregations. He provided services and was an evangelical preacher. He had been the pastor and the person who laid the foundation of the New Life Church that is located in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Ted Haggard has also contributed to the discovery of the Association of Life-Giving Churches as well as lead the National Association of Evangelicals initiating from the year 2003 till November 2006. He was charged on grounds of homosexuality as well as drug addiction by a prostitute namely Mike Jones.

As a result of which Ted Haggard had to forego all the powers that came to him as a leader in November 2006. Though at the initial stages he stated all the allegations as false but as the media got deeper into the matter, he admitted that he bought methamphetamine from time to time. He also pleaded guilty for the sexual activities he indulged into.

Ted Haggard was the son of J. M. Haggard, who used to be a veterinarian in Yorktown, Indiana as well as contributed to the discovery of international charismatic ministry that was shown in the documentary series of PBS Middletown. When he was sixteen years old, in the year 1972, he switched over to a born-again Christian after listening to the sermons provided by the late evangelist namely Bill Bright, who is based in Dallas, Texas.

Ted Haggard was the co-editor of the newspaper that used to operate in his high school during the year 1974. He contributed frank articles dealing with the services that are there to avoid the ever increasing pregnancies and STDs. He pursued his education from the Oral Roberts University, which is a Christian university that is located in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Ted Haggard tied his marital knots with Gayle Alcorn in 1978. They have five children namely Christy, Marcus, Jonathan, Alex and Elliot. He strongly holds belief in Third Wave of the Holy Spirit. He also has a notion that there exists only one god and all human beings are required to be with him.

As per the Time magazine in 2005, Ted Haggard was among the top 25 most influential evangelicals residing in America. He always backed President George W. Bush.
