
Robin Givens was born on 27th of November 1964, in the city of New York. However, she spent her childhood days in Westchester County, which is a small place, a little distance away from New York City. There she stayed with her mother Ruth Givens and her younger sister. Their father, Reuben Givens was too busy to look after them. So, Robin did not get her fathers affection in her early days.
Robin Givens mother noticed that right from her early days her daughter had a knack for art. Realizing her talent, Ruth always backed her up in this matter. Even Robins younger sister had the same kind of liking towards art. Anyway, Robin could play the violin very well, right from her small age. However, as time went by, her interest in music slowly faded away and she felt a strong desire in her heart to take up acting as her profession.
Pursuing her desire, Robin Givens joined the American academy of Dramatic Arts, which is situated in New York, when she was only ten years of age. However, she also continued her studies along with it. In the year 1980, after completing her schooling, she joined the Sarah Lawrence College. However, slowly acting started to consume the heavier part of her time and so she left college in her early years. She started getting various offers to join different television shows as well.
Robin Givens first appearance on the television screen was in the series named the The Cosby Shows and Diffrent Strokes. But she achieved a lot of fame from her performance in the TV movie named Head of the Class. After this series, life became a little bit easier for her. Offers to various television series came automatically. She appeared in an episode of The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. She also acted in series like The Women of Brewer Place, The Face and many more.
In the recent years, Robin Givens is working in Hollywood. She is acting in a movie named Queen of Media. However she also attempted to host various talk shows which did not bring her much success. Her personal life too, does not have a very happy story. In 1988, she was married to the famous boxer Mike Tyson, but was divorced in the next year. It was the same story when she married her tennis instructor Svetozar Marinvonik in 1997.
