Disneyland Theme Park

Disneyland is one of the most theme parks in the world. The park is located in Anaheim, California, USA. It has a stupendous reputation of being exciting beyond everyones beliefs. The park opened on 17th July, 1955. The sole owner of the park is The Walt Disney Company and more than 520 million people have visited the park till today.

The earliest themes in Disneyland were Adventureland, Frontierland, Fantasyland and Tomorrowland. In the recent years many more themes were added to the collection. From 1966 to 1993 many other themes such as New Orleans square, Bear County, Mickeys ToonTown and many others were made. Apart from the themes intricate rides were made around the park. Train, cars and boat rides were included. The themes depicted history, present and the future.

Disneyland was unique because it entertained people of all ages. The theme was planned in order to include a whole family to come to the same place and enjoy. The park covers a huge area where one would take a whole day to explore and probably come back the next day. Harrison Price was hired by Walt for research in the early days and Price
attained over 160 acres of orange groves and walnut trees in Anaheim in Los Angeles.

In spite of prior success Disneyland was found it cumbersome to attain funds, due to which new ideas had to be innovated. They successfully advertised their park through television and soon got ABC network to finance the park. ABC and Walt became partners for five years and in 1960 Walt Disney purchased ABCs share. Going back to 1954 the cost of making the park was $17 million and Walt Disney has quadrupled their income since then.

Disneyland incessantly changed management to freshen up ideas. In 2003 Matt Ouimet was given leadership of the park. Greg Emmer was assigned as the Senior Vice President of Operations. Both these men worked in the park earlier but had different jobs. The theme park was then visited by people around the world. The theme park personnel along with their directors often welcomed guests personally. They believed in total customer satisfaction. The park was well known for their atmosphere.

The theme park has inspired many other parks around the world. It was the first of its kind and around the world many followed in their footsteps. The parks always came up with new trends and new rides to excite the guests and this has been followed elsewhere. The Disneyland brand had then opened theme parks in Canada, Japan, Australia and many other countries. Matt Ouimet left the company along with Ed Grier although Greg Emmer remains with the resort and theme park. Disneyland
