Aruba Caribbean Sea Island


Aruba is one of the most popular tourist destinations, located in the southern part of the Caribbean Sea. Geographically it lies to the north of Paraguaná Peninsula, Falcón State, Venezuela.The Island is flat and is popular for the white sandy beaches that stretches along the western and southern parts of the island.

Aruba is a part of the Kingdom of Netherlands. There are no specific administrative subdivisions for the island and is a separate member of of the Kingdom of the Netherlands. The region experiences a dry and humid climate with a dry cactus strewn landscape. However the climate of the region has helped it to draw hundreds of tourists all round the year.

Aruba is a tourist destination for thousands across the world. In the recent times the place is a top desitnation for tourists from the United States. This hads increased the visibility of Amercan culture in this island, with the celebration og Halloween and Thanksgiving Day. Majority of other tourists are from Venezuela and the European Union. The northerna and eastern coasts of the island are quite adventurous as they are still untouched by humans. Interiors of the regions have rolling hills, known as Hooiberg –that has a height 0f 541ft and Mount Jamanota standing at a height of 617 feet. This is the heightest point of the region.

The capital of Aruba is Oranjestad. The ingabitants of the island enjoy high standatds of living. It is one of the safest regions with low crime rate. The economy of the region is booming with more than half of the Gross National Product coming from the tourism Indusntry. In the earlier times oil processing was a major source of income for the nation. Agriculatural and the manufacturing sector have a minimal contribution to the economy of the region.

Aruba celebrates many festivals and people enjoy several holidays. The Carnival festivala nd Madi Gras is celebrated for weeks in the region. These celebrations usually start from the beginning of January till the Tuesday before Ash Wednesday with a large parade on the last Sunday of the festivities (Sunday before Ash Wednesday). Dia di San Juan, with the song of Dera Gai is celebrated in the month of June by many inhabitants of the region. Other two popular holidays of the region are Ascension and Good Friday.

Christmas and New Year are celebrated in Aruba with the typical music and songs of gaitas for Christmas and the Dande for New Year, and the ayaca, the ponchi crema and ham, and other typical foods and drinks. Millions of dollars worth of fireworks are burnt at midnight on New Year's. Other celebrations of the region are Christmas and New Year.

Reaching Aruba is quite easy as Aruba's Queen Beatrix International Airport is located near Oranjestad. The region is well connected to many cities across United States, to San Juan, Puerto Rico; Miami, Florida; Chicago, Illinois; Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; Houston, Texas; Atlanta, Georgia; Charlotte, North Carolina; New York, and Boston, Massachusetts. There are daily flights to other international airports that include Venezuela, Colombia, Peru, Brazil, Spain, England and most of Europe through the Schiphol Airport in the Netherlands. Aruba
