Christmas Prelude Celebration Kennebunk has stepped in its 27th year of celebrating the season of Christmas and merriment. The Christmas celebrations took off with a tree lighting ceremony. It was followed next with a River Tree Arts concert. The festivities also had a chowder luncheon ceremony and candlelight caroling.

Oahu Blackout Affected Traffic Flight Schedules Post Christmas Sales Obamas Safe In Posh Locality
The island of Oahu had a power outage late Friday amidst heavy rain and lightning. The Oahu blackout left 800,000 residents and numerous tourists in the dark. The power company and civil authorities advised the residents to get to their homes and to store water. A Hawaiian Electric Light spokesman, Peter Rosegg, said that the initial power outage occurred at 6:45 p.m. while the rest of the island drowned in darkness tow hours later when the second generator failed. Power outage also occurred in the neighborhood where the president-elect Barack Obama and his family are vacationing.

Newport Beach Boat Parade Christmas 100th Annual Ceremony Cancelled For Bad Weather And Winter Storm
The 100th annual Newport Beach Christmas Boat Parade is scheduled to take place from 17th December until 21st December 2008 starting at 6:30pm and continued till 9pm was cancelled by the organizers because of bad weather and winter storm. The opening night of the parade was celebrated with fireworks. The five days traditional event draws the attention of a number of tourists every year.
