Bruce Almighty Comedy Movie

Bruce Almighty is a unique comedy movie released in 2003; it was directed by Tom Shadyac. This unprecedented movie theme was written by Steve Koren, Mark O Keefe and Steve Oedekerk. The characters in the movie are well placed and unconventional. Lead roles by Jim Carrey, Morgan Freeman and Jennifer Aniston were artistically imposing. It was the first movie of its kind.

Bruce Almighty had immense star power with many academy award winners and others like Steve Carell, Catharine Bell, Lisa Ann Walter and Philip Baker who co-starred in the movie. The movie shared its opening day along with Memorial Day and it was the highest rated movie to be released before X men in 2006. It grossed $85.7 million which was shockingly eccentric. Four months after its release the movie grossed $242 million in USA and approximately $490 million worldwide.

Bruce Almighty was the highest grossing comedy ever to be released. The story is exceedingly fascinating with Bruce Nolan played by Carrey a mere TV reporter is fed up of his conservative lifestyle. He comes across multiple barriers in his life and he finally gives in and vigorously complains to God. He is than visited by God played by Morgan Freeman who grants him exceptional powers to challenge Bruce to do better than him.

Bruce Almighty continues when Bruce goes on to use his supreme powers to his benefit. He transforms his life and his relationship. Soon he is reminded that he is to take care of everyones problem and in turn he jeopardized his own life once again. Eventually he realizes the burden that God has to carry and returns his powers back to God. He then becomes a human again and regains control of his life and his relationship.

Bruce Almighty was soon surrounded with controversies; the movie was banned from a few Islamic countries because they protested against the visualization of a God as an ordinary man. In Iran the movie was inferred as a religious practice. The end scene with Morgan Freeman portrayed the return of the 12th Imam which was a prophecy. Regardless of the tribulations the critically acclaimed movie received both positive and negative reviews. It was speculated to be Jim Carreys best film.

Bruce Almighty faced problems during the scene of God contacting Bruce was investigated into. The phone number used by God in the movie was actually in use in real life. Soon enough some crazed fans started calling the number to speak to God. The number was then changed in the DVD version.
