The Thai Language is spoken all over Thailand. The Thai people are the dominant population in Thailand. The name of Thai came from a member of the Tai Group of the Tai Kadai family. The language is speculated to have originated from southern China. The language is a combination of a peculiar tone and it is indicative. It is one of the hardest languages in the world.

The standard Thai Language is also known as Central Thai or Siamese. It is spoken by more than 65 million people. There are many variations of the language with different dialects and usability. The Isan is spoken in northern Thailand; the Nyaw is spoken in Nakhon Phanom Province in Northeast Thailand. The Galung is spoken in Udon Thani Province also in Northeast Thailand. The Tai Lue Dai is spoken the least by about 78,000 people.

The Thai Language is highly conspicuous due to its itinerant variations. In northern Thailand other types of the language like Lanna, Kam Meuang or Thai Yuan which is known to be spoken by at least 6 million in Chiang Mai. Phuan is spoken by an unknown number of people in Central Thailand. Recently discovered Shan or the Thai Yai and it is spoken by a mere 56,000 people in the Shan States of Burma. The varsities in the language are due to the varied cultures in Thailand.

Other Thai Language such as Song is spoken by 20,000 to 30,000 people in Central Thailand. Pak Dtai is spoken in southern Thailand by about 5 million people. The Thai dam is spoken by 20,000 people in Isan and Saraburi Province as of 1991. Most of these languages are spoken outside Thailand too. The Central Thailand language is widely spoken and it is also used for educational purposes in school and universities.

The Thai Language is composed of several registers respective of their origin and usability. For example the Street Thai is informal and is mainly spoken by the people. The Elegant Thai is used for official purposes is offices and it is respectful to speak. The Rhetorical is used mainly for public speaking and this particular language is influenced by Sanskrit and Pali. The religious Thai is most essential when addressing monks and discussing Buddhism.

The Thai Language also includes the all exclusive Royal Thai and it is only used by the royal family in conversing. Thai cannot be transliterated into Latin alphabets. The language cannot be learned if the beginners do not master the Thai alphabets. In 2003 Thai was transcribed into Roman script which made the transcription reversible.
