Shaun Roger White was born on the 3rd of September, 1986. His Home town is in Carlsbad which is situated in the state of California. Right from his early age Shaun had the ambition of making a big name for himself in the world of sports. Every one seeing his determination to achieve his goal felt that one day he would surely achieve his dream. They used to call him The Egg and the Future Boy.
Shaun White grew up into a 5 feet 8.5 inch tall young man. He developed a keen interest in the snowboarding and made up his mind to take it up as his profession. He worked day in and day out in order to turn himself a master in that sport. All those who saw him, with his red hair and practicing snowboarding called him with the name The Flying Tomato. And whats astounding is the fact that he actually liked himself to be called by that name, and so he never opposed to it.
Shaun White was only six when he started participating in snowboarding competitions. If fact, after not finding a board small enough for his son, Shauns mother had to call up Burton, one of the most famous snowboard manufacturers, to get a board specially designed for her son. Today Burton himself, along with 16 other companies and organizations stand as Shawns sponsors. He has also been featured in the snowboard game named Amped 2.
Shaun White had been a regular champion since the year 2002. Till date, he has won a total of 7 gold, 3 silver and 1 bronze in the X games in the last five years. The only title he had not been able to touch in these five years is the five-peat Gold title. Besides X games, Shaun has also been successful in other competitions like the Air & Style Contest in 2003 and 2004, 2006 Winter Olympics and many other state level competitions.
In an interview, Shaun White revealed that being in association with Tony Hawk right from his early age has helped him a lot to be in the position that he is in right now. He has always taken the time out of his work in order to discuss about his game with any one who has a good reputation in this sport. That is how he has reached such a height of fame.
