Jim Boylan Basketball Coach


Jim Boylan was born on 29th April, 1955 in Jersey City that is located in New Jersey. He is a renowned basketball coach. He also went ahead as the interim head coach representing the Chicago Bulls on 27th December, 2007 in place of Scott Skiles who was thrown out of his job.

Jim Boylan was placed at the position of a point guard at the Marquette University, the organization where he led the Warriors to successfully land up with NCAA Men's Division I Basketball Tournament in the year 1977. They made a score of 14 points in the National Championship Game as played against the North Carolina Tar Heels.

He successfully worked as the assistant coach to the Marquette University during their junior as well as senior season. Jim Boylan further went ahead by getting himself drafted to the fourth round as 68th overall in the NBA Draft belonging to the year 1978 by the San Diego Clippers. He never opted to play an NBA game and decided to move to Europe with the intention of having a short pro career.

Jim Boylan initiated with his career in coaching in the form of a player-coach in Switzerland in between the years 1982-86. He was the person who with his hard work and dedication made the Vevey Basketball club win its first championship title in its history of 30 years.

When Jim Boylan was 31 years old he made a return to the States with the idea of doing work as an assistant for Jud Heathcote, who was based at Michigan State University in the years between 1986-89. He later opted for the duties of a head coach and served at the University of New Hampshire becoming the successor of Gerry Friel.

In the year 1992, Jim Boylan got into the NBA working as a video coordinator as well as advance scout for the Cleveland Cavaliers. He further went to the Vancouver Grizzlies under the assistance of Brian Hill and then Lionel Hollins.

Going ahead with life in the year 2001, Jim Boylan got the membership of the Frank Johnson's coaching staff that is based in Phoenix and spent quite sometime doing the job of Phoenix Suns under Scott Skiles, who succeeded Johnson. In the year 2002, when the Skiles were out of their work, he joined Terry Scotts representing Atlanta Hawks in the NBA season of 2003-04. He was the lead assistant of Skiles in 2004.
