Totally Awesome VH 1 Film

Totally Awesome is movie produced by VH1. The movie was aimed to be aired in television. This television movie is a direct parody to several movies of 1980s. The long list includes movies like Dirty Dancing, Soul Man, Footloose, Some Kind of Wonderful, Sixteen Candles, Teen Wolf, Better off Dead, Pretty in Pink as well as The Karate Kid.

The concept of Totally Awesome came with the idea of the television movie as a lost film of 1980s, the print of which is rediscovered from a vault in the Arizona desert. VH1 purchases it for they did not have enough programs with 80s as thee. This concept is stated by the narrator of the movie Ben Stein. The plot of the movie surrounds the story of a young man Charlie.

Released on 4th November in the year of 2006, Totally Awesome projects the young man Charlie coming to a new town. In this new town, he automatically achieves the popularity as a senior. But this comes with a thorn as he develops a crush towards Kimberly, the most popular girl of the school. Unfortunately enough, his crush to her develops a sour relationship with Kipp, her boyfriend.

The ways that Charlie adopts in order to woo Kimberly makes the movie Totally Awesome. He at first seeks the help of a black man called Darnell and learns the way of talking, walking as well as acting like a cool black man. But his change in lifestyle though makes him like any cool black man, finds no way in his way to Kimberly. In this way, Charlie develops a relationship with another girl Billie.

The character of Billie in Totally Awesome has been projected as a foil to Kimberly. Unlike the popular girl in the school, Billy is the class loser. She is poor and her skin is very oily. However, she seems to be the only person who can understand the thoughts of Charlie. This brings her near to Charlie as a friend though Charlie mentions the relationship as completely platonic in spite of the fact of Billie having crush over him.

Totally Awesome comes to a close as Charlie opens an altercation with Kipp and accepts the challenge of Decathlon. After several awesome means he succeeds in learning only three items poll vault, high jump and shot put. Dissatisfied of it, Charlie receives the suggestion of his trainer to kill Kipp to avoid problem though he refuses to adopt homicide as his means to win the heart of Kimberly. Totally Awesome
