Beverly D Angelo Singer

Beverly DAngelo is a name to reckon with in the showbiz history. This talented person who was born November 15, 1951 in Columbus, Ohio is a great singer and actress. Till this date she is well remembered in the public memory for her role as Ellen Griswold in the National Lampoon's Vacation movies series.

Beverly D'Angelo is the daughter of Eugene (Gene) and Pricilla (Smith) D'Angelo who began work in the theatre in 1976. Her first appearance came on Broadway in Rockabye Hamlet. This was basically a musical based on Shakespeare's Hamlet and it should be kept in mind that though the production was a failure, running less than a month, D'Angelo's performance as Ophelia was much praised and it was basically the show that made her successful as an actress.

A significant fact about Beverly DAngelo was that her maternal grandfather Howard Dwight Smith was the architect who designed the Ohio Stadium. This was a great work of sculpture and is also known as The Horseshoe at The Ohio State University. Initially her career started with minor roles and she made her appearance in several movies that included Annie Hall.

However, it was only in the late 1970s that Beverly DAngelo started being successful and around this time she had a series of hit movies that included Every Which Way But Loose, Hair, and Coal Miner's Daughter where she had the role of the singer Patsy Cline. Significantly in this movie she did all her own singing and in fact her biggest break came with Chevy Chase in the 1983 National Lampoons Vacation.

Beverly DAngelo is thus renowned for her role as Ellen Griswold and this was reprised in three Vacation sequels. This was from 1985 through 1997 and in the year 1992, she had a guest appearance in the third season of The Simpsons. In this play she played the role of Lurleen Lumpkin who is a beautiful, Southern country singer and waitress. At the same this actress has also played a role in the independent cult classic Gamers: The Movie; though at the moment she can be seen on the hit HBO series Entourage. In this she is playing the role of the alpha-female Barbara Babs Miller.

Beverly DAngelo initially had an affair with film director Miloš Forman, in 1981. Apart from that D'Angelo also married Lorenzo Salviati, an economics student who also was an Italian duke as well as a descendant of Lorenzo de Medici.
