Phyllis Nelson Disco Singer

Phyllis Nelson was born on 3rd October, 1950 in Indiana and lived till 12th January 1998 and met the end of her life in Los Angeles. She was a singer and did immense work in the years 1970s and 1980s and did recordings of her songs for a lot of years but was not very successful.

Phyllis Nelson basically specialized in records that were concerned with dance tracks. She did contribute to many records in the disco era. In the year 1985, she worked on a ballad namely Move Closer, which was written by her. This ballad was very different from the variety she had been indulging in.

The lyrics, which Phyllis Nelson composed for Move Closer were inspired by the romantic affair she was into. She worked on this ballad with an associate, who was a white Jewish man residing in Philadelphia. This man was very much younger to her and was looking forward to setting up a business related to computers.

Phyllis Nelson did also spend a large part of her life with him tending her two children namely Marc and Kenya. She had these kids from the two different men she had been with in the early part of her life. She regarded this man as the one she loved honestly from the core of her heart and seemed to share a fantastic chemistry with him and this affection was instrumental in the ballad she recorded.

In order to show her thankfulness and appreciation for the moral as well as physical support he provided to her as well as her kids during their needy times, she went ahead and dedicated one of the songs in her album namely Don't Stop The Train to him. Phyllis Nelson was estranged from him because of the Jewish guys parents getting into serious mental problems.

Moreover, Phyllis Nelson was not very happy with the thought of providing him training for the ways of life, which he did not learn at his right age. They also cultivated differences because of different races they belonged to and the family opinions, which were not very similiar.

Her album Move Closer was not much recognized in her own country but was placed on the number one position on the U.K. Singles Chart in the May of 1985. This was a great achievement for the first black woman who was on the uppermost position of the chart through herself made album. Phyllis Nelson died after suffering from breast cancer.Phyllis Nelson
