
Douglas Lute took birth in Michigan City, Indiana. He completed his graduation form the United States Military Academy that is located at West Point in the year 1975. Initially he was assigned to the Second Armored Cavalry Regiment in Bindlach, Germany and was given the charge of the C Troop.
Douglas Lute grabbed hold of his MPA degree from the Kennedy School of Government affiliated to the Harvard University in 1983. He was a teacher imparting knowledge in the Social Sciences department at West Point. He worked at the position of the lieutenant general in the United States Army.
Douglas Lute got his nomination done by George W. Bush to the post of Assistant to the President and Deputy national Security Advisor for Iraq and Afghanistan on 15th May, 2007. He was also referred to as the War Czar in the George W. Bush administration. He was appointed as the Deputy National Security Advisor by the Senate on 28th June, 2007.
Douglas Lute worked in the Second Cavalry in the post of an operations officer taking charge of squadron as well as at regiment levels just to be at the British army staff college. In the year 1990-91, he accompanied the Regiment in an Operation namely Desert Storm and after that worked as the staff member of the Chief of Staff of the United States Army.
Douglas Lute was the commander of the 1st Squadron, 7th Cavalry that is based at Fort Hood, Texas during the years 1992-94. He tied his marital knots with Jane Holl Lute, the holder of Ph.D in Political Science from Stanford University as well as a J.D from Georgetown University.
In recent times she is reported to be the UN Assistant Secretary General contributing to Peacekeeping Operations. They have two baby girls. Douglas Lute also spent his time on the Joint Staff in the Directorate for Strategic Plans and Policy, J-5, as well as acknowledged the War College Fellowship at the Atlantic Council in Washington, D.C.
Douglas Lute became the Brigadier General in the year 2001 for a period of 14 months, he did the job of an executive assistant helping the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. In the year 2004, he was promoted to the position of the Major General and further in 2006 as Lieutenant General. On 6th September, 2006 he went ahead with the duties being placed as the Director of Operations, the Joint Staff.
