Anderson Coopers Mother Gloria Laura Madeleine Sophie Vanderbilt


Gloria Laura Madeleine Sophie Vanderbilt is an artist and actress and socialite of America who is notably an early developer of designer blue jeans. She was born on 20th February 1924 in the New York City and is a prominent Vanderbilt Family member of New York. She is also well known as the CNN reporter, Anderson Coopers Mother.

Anderson Coopers Mother, Vanderbilt was the daughter of railroad heir Reginald Claypoole Vanderbilt and his second wife, Gloria Laura Mercedes Morgan. After the death of her father at her 15 months old age, she became heiress to a four million dollar trust fund. As a young widow, Vanderbilts mother Gloria was not prepared to handle the responsibilities of controlling the huge trust fund.

Anderson Coopers Mother, Vanderbilt Gloria used to attend Convent of the Sacred Heart in Manhattan, Miss Porter's School in Farmington, Connecticut, and the Art Students League in New York City, where she developed her artistic talent for which she increasingly became famous in her career. At the time, when Vanderbilt Gloria came at the age to control her trust fund, she entirely ignored her mother but, in later years she supported her mother occationally. In 1965, her mother died in obscurity.

In 1941, Anderson Coopers Mother, Vanderbilt Gloria ran off to Hollywood and there she married agent Pasquale DiCicco, but they divorced in 1945. She gave birth to two sons by her second marriage with conductor Leopold Stokowski on April 21, 1945. The sons named Leopold Stanislaus Stokowski who born in 1950 and Christopher Stokowski, born in 1952. Vanderbilt again ended up their relation for the second time as they divorced in October, 1955.

On 28th August 1956, Anderson Coopers Mother married for the third time with director Sidney Lumet and got a divorced in August, 1963. On 24th December 1963, her fourth marriage was arranged with author Wyatt Emory Cooper. They had two sons namely Carter Vanderbilt Cooper, born in 1965 and Anderson Hays Cooper, todays CNN reporter born in 1967. During Wyatt Coopers open heart surgery at New York City in 1978, he died and his son Carter Cooper committed suicide on July 22, 1988 by jumping from their 14th floor apartment.

Studying art at the Art Students League of New York, Anderson Coopers Mother, Vanderbilt became known for her artwork, producing one-woman shows of oil paintings, watercolors, and pastels. Starting in 1968 by Hallmark and by Bloomcraft, her artworks were licensed and she began to make designs specifically for linens, china, glassware and flatware.

In 1970s, Anderson Coopers Mother name was licensed for use on a series of fashion eyeglasses, perfume and clothing and in 1979, Murjani came forth with the proposed of launching a series of designer jeans with Vanderbilt's brand name; Moreover she also appeared in a series of television ads promoting her products and soon her designer label has flourished, with the Gloria Vanderbilt swan logo consistently appearing both on dresses and as well as on perfume too.
