Sandra Dees original name was Alexandria Cymboliak Zuck; she was born on April 23rd 1942 in Bayonne, New Jersey. Her parents John and Mary Cymboliak were later divorced. She was later changed her name to Sandra and became a professional model at the age of four and later she involved herself into Television Commercials. She also started making movies.

She was famed for her stupendous role in the movie Gidget in 1959. She made her first film Until They Say in 1957. She earned a Golden Globe Award in 1958, her immaculate roles in films such as Imitation of Life and A summer Place in 1959 earned her astounding reputation all around the country. The Broadway musical Grease in 1978 inspired her with the song Look at Me, Im Sandra Dee. She made rare TV appearances and acted in a few films in the 70s.

She was married at age 18 in 1960 to famous singer Bobby Darin, she was in the limelight for a decade before getting a contract with Universal Studios where Sandra Dee developed into a matured actress. Her successful films were making her into a better actress. The couple had one son together before they were divorced in 1967, Bobby Darin later died on December 20th 1973. Even in her life she had problems with anorexia nervosa, depression and alcoholism.

In 1994 Dodd Darin the son of Sandra Dee wrote a book about her and his father Bobby Darin, he had exclusive details on their life together. Her life was beautiful as portrayed in the book. Her life with Darin was also dramatized in the movie Beyond the Sea in which Kevin Spacey played Bobby Darin and Dee was played by Kate Bosworth. She signed her first film contract at age 14; her films had a soap opera style with high emotions and dramatics.

Sandra Dee starred in more famous roles in the movies like Come September in 1961, If a Man Answers in 1962, That Funny Feeling in 1965. Although her roles in Romanoff and Juliet and Take Her, Shes Mine wasnt up to the mark. But she came back with a bang with her most famous movies in Hollywood which was Tammy in Tammy Tell Me True in 1961 and Tammy and the Doctor in 1963. She was living the high life with major box office hits.

Tired with the repetitive scripts she lost her interest in movies in 1967; she stared working on the small screen and resurfaced in TV commercials. In 2000 Sandra Dee was diagnosed with myriad ailments, including throat cancer and renal disease. There was doubt about her condition and she got ESRD (end stage renal disease) along with pneumonia which eventually led to her death on February 20th 2005 at the Los Robles Hospital in California.
